Gratitude Beyond Measure

Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Awards $275,000 Grant to Support Diagnostic Imaging and Expanded Laboratory Capacity at Neighborhood Health Clinic

The Clinic has received a $275,000 grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation to support Expanding Laboratory Capacity and Maintenance of Diagnostic Imaging, a critical investment in sustaining timely, expert diagnostic services for qualified, chronically ill patients who have no alternative healthcare options.

The grant provides a two-fold approach to essential Clinic operations. First, it will ensure service agreements necessary to maintain fully operational and accurately responsive radiological diagnostic equipment. This investment is essential to accommodate medically vulnerable patients whose lives depend on Neighborhood Health Clinic for crucial medical care and health maintenance.
Second, the grant includes $100,000 in essential operational support for Neighborhood Health Clinic’s newly upgraded in-house diagnostic laboratory. Funding will cover necessary consumables, including specific reagents, test kits and general lab supplies, as well as crucial fixed expenses such as equipment calibration, licensing fees and service contracts.

“This generous investment from Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation directly strengthens the diagnostic backbone of Neighborhood Health Clinic,” said Keith Maples, CEO of Neighborhood Health Clinic. “For our patients, timely imaging and laboratory results are not simply tests; they are the foundation for treatment decisions, chronic disease management and uninterrupted medical care. This grant helps ensure our patients continue to receive the high-quality diagnostics they need, when they need them, while also supporting the long-term sustainability of our Clinic operations.”
The funding ensures that 100% of Neighborhood Health Clinic’s medically vulnerable patients continue to receive timely, expert diagnostic services, with up to 97% of required lab tests performed on site. By reducing reliance on outsourced services, the Clinic can shorten the time needed to obtain results and more efficiently manage patient treatment plans.

“This grant reflects our Foundation’s commitment to strengthening organizations that deliver practical, high-impact solutions for people in need,” said Richard M. Schulze, Chairman of Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. “Neighborhood Health Clinic plays an essential role in providing access to medical care for working, uninsured and vulnerable members of the community, and we are proud to support its continued investment in diagnostic capacity, operational strength and patient-centered care.”

Beyond supporting Clinic patients, the grant also helps make advanced diagnostic services more widely available to the whole community through Neighborhood Health Clinic’s partnership with Naples Pathology Associates, whose new state-of-the-art laboratory is now located on campus, and through radiology services made possible with the operational support of Millennium Physician Group.
This vital support represents a critical investment in Neighborhood Health Clinic’s sustainability and longevity, helping ensure one year of uninterrupted medical care for those who need it most.
