Naples, FL – 5/1/2025 – Neighborhood Health Clinic proudly held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newly expanded Medication Room at its location near Goodlette-Frank Road and Central Avenue. The new 1,850-square-foot space, constructed at a cost of $500,000, significantly enhances the Clinic’s ability to serve patients more efficiently and promptly.
Special guests at the event included founding pharmacist and past Board Director, Tim Hayes, Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann, Marisa Barnes of Direct Relief, and the Goff family, who represented their late aunt, Stacy Forman—the donor and namesake of the new room.
Equipped with updated technology and increased storage capacity, the expanded space allows for a larger inventory of non-narcotic formulary medications. This enables the Clinic to fill prescriptions immediately, helping to ensure compliance and minimizing delays in treatment. In 2024, the Clinic distributed $6.5 million in retail value of medications, thanks to partnerships with Americares, Direct Relief, Dispensary of Hope, and others.
“Neighborhood Health Clinic exemplifies what’s possible when dedicated providers have the tools they need to care for their community,” said Marisa Barnes, Senior Program Manager at Direct Relief. “Direct Relief is privileged to support their work by providing donated medicine—including for mental health—essential medical supplies, and funding to help ensure high-quality care remains accessible to those in Naples who need it most.”
The expansion also consolidates medication dispensary operations into one dedicated space, improving volunteer coordination, volunteer physician consultations, and direct patient support. A key component of the Clinic’s comprehensive care, the medication program benefits from dedicated volunteer efforts, with compliance rates ranging from 96%–98%—nearly double the national average.
For patients managing three to five chronic conditions, timely access to medications and adherence to strict regimens are essential to long-term health. The enhanced Medication Room will continue to play a vital role in helping patients maintain their well-being while minimizing time away from work and family.
