The Schoen Foundation’s Legacy Gift to the Clinic

An immensely generous endowment gift of $3,750,000 from The Schoen Foundation was awarded to the Clinic to treat chronically ill patients suffering from cardiovascular and coronary heart disease.  Nearly 70% of the Clinic’s patients suffer from a combination of heart disease and associated diabetes-related illness.  The funding is designated to establish a new endowment fund that will provide ongoing support for the Clinic’s “Healthy Heart” program, continuing the work that has been presented and supported in the past.

“The overwhelming support Neighborhood Health Clinic has received from The Schoen Foundation over the years, combined with this generous, sustainable gift, has helped to cement a structure of forever-care for uninsured and underserved chronically ill patients of Collier County,” says Keith Maples, Clinic CEO. “We are so grateful for the Foundation’s unwavering support.”

Impressed with the level of care and commitment to patients, Mr. William “Bill” Schoen began supporting the Clinic in 2020 with critical funding needed to implement and sustain the Clinic’s Healthy Heart program.  This final legacy gift from the Foundation will ensure that the Schoen Family’s vision for the program continues and has been celebrated with The Schoen Foundation name over the entry to the new Cardiology Suite in the Clinic’s Armstrong Medical Building.
