The Clinic and Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry (PFCD) collaborated once again with Caring for Collier 2024 that brought many bright smiles and happy tears to qualified low-income, uninsured patients receiving free comprehensive dental care.
Dr. Mai Huynh-Le, founder of PFCD, and her husband, dentist Dr. Long Huynh, established Caring for Collier as a charitable way to give back to the Naples community that they love. Partnering with Neighborhood Health Clinic, they treated the acute dental needs of the Clinic’s uninsured, working adults who have no access to affordable health care. Sixty patients, ages 27 to 64, received medication and treatment for root canal therapy, dental fillings, extractions, restorations, and dental cleanings. All dental services were donated by PFCD and delivered at no charge to the patients of the Clinic.
“This collaboration is a perfect match.” says Leslie Lascheid, Neighborhood Health Clinic CEO, “Organizationally; our core values align to include community service with compassion to help our neighbors in need. That is the essence of community partnership.”
The scope of charitable generosity is impressive. The donated patient services, volunteer hours and the multiple procedures delivered accounted for close to $200,000 in philanthropic giving to our community. The 46 employees from PFCD and the Clinic who generously volunteered their time and expertise to positively impact the lives of those in need in Collier County must be recognized for who they are: neighbors helping neighbors in need.
As a special treat for all volunteers, the day ended with traditional and delicious Vietnamese Phở soup & Banh-Mi sandwiches, home-made by Dr. Huynh-Le; a sure-fire way to ensure everyone will return to volunteer for the next Collier Cares Day.
